Wait for the fresh anointing from the Lord.

Leaves were made to fall after they have fulfilled their part. To hang on is hopeless. They are shriveled and are not able to function anymore. When the Spring sun comes they will only taken up space and don't have the substance within them to produce sugars again. A new leaf is needed.

Christians try to hang on to the old ways, because that is what they know. The old ways worked back then but they won't work now. We live in a new dynamic and we need approach things in a new way.  We need the fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit. A tree has a system to provide life for the next growing season. Notice there are buds all over these branches. These buds will provide new leaves that will function and produce life.

We can't save up what we had from God in the past. We need a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit each day.

Wait for the fresh anointing from the Lord.

Christians try to live by their past experiences, they try to hang on to the old ways, because that is what they know. The old ways worked back then but they won't work now. Lamentations 3:22,23
The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions "never fail.
They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness."

Turkey Vultures roosting

Came across some Turkey Vultures roosting at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Missouri.

They fly around together in the morning, before they go to their areas. They also circle around before they roost at night.

They eat mostly dead meat. By eating dead meat, they help clean the environment, clening up diseased animals.

Crows

Caught these crows in flight. As I walked across the Johnson Atkins Museum yard. They flew right over my head and I grabbed my camera and started shooting.

"For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will."

Knotty Oak

There is a lot of history in this tree. Sometimes it is good to learn the history that others have lived or to read history to learn from others.

Soggy Ground

We have had more snow then normal this year. Most of the snow is gone now but this field is not draining the water. Water is a type for the Scripture and land is a type for our soul.

When we are not situated to use the water and give out to others we become unusable to others. You can't drive over it, you can't walk across it with out making a mess, you can't plant seeds in it you can't harvest the plants that have grown up. The only thing you can do is let it rot.

Order your life right, so that the gifts you have will be useful.

1 Samuel 12:24-25 "Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. 25 But if you still do wickedly, both you and your king will be swept away.”

Daffodils Bring Hope

Spring is coming late to our area. But there is hope. The Daffodils have broken ground and are starting.

This is like life at times. Sometimes we go through a long period of trouble but the Lord will keep His promises.

In Matthew 7 it talks about building our house on the rock. Jesus is the rock. When we build our house on Jesus there is a sure foundation that will stand the test of storms that come.

Hope looks to the promise and knows the answer will come. Daffodils show Spring is sure to come. Rejoice in the coming of Spring. Rejoice in the coining of the Lord to sustain your life.
