Unusual Grass Seed

We found a trail that circled around this field of grass. The trees had been cleared out and this must have been planted. The seeds are unusual because of their shape. I saw this grass along the side of the trail, so it was natural to the area.

This reminds me that where we are now will bring seeds for the future. What we do now will bring the same results. Don't expect there to be a change if you are doing the same thing as you have always done.

If you want change, make a change. Quit listening to the tired old things you have listened to in the past. Quit watching the tired old stories you have watched in the past.

Start listening to the King of kings and the Lord of Lords. Listen to the giver of life. Accept what He says and believe it by agreeing and speaking what He has promised.

John 6:63
" It is the Spirit who gives life;
 the flesh profits nothing;
the words that I have spoken to you
are spirit and are life."

Lightray and Grass

A small ray of sunlight highlighted this grass leaving the background dark.

At times an area of life will be highlighted to us. Take note of it. It could be God showing you something.

2 Corinthians 4:6 "For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."

Grass Going to Seed

Grass going to seed because it wasn't cut soon enough.

Sometimes natural beauty will come when we are too busy. We consider the urban view of beauty and don't realize that nature will grow and bring beauty at all stages its growth.  But then time marches on and the grass dies and waits for Spring.

God and the Bible are sure and we can count on Him in good times and bad.

1 Peter 1:24,25
"For, All flesh is like grass,
And all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
And the flower falls off,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.
And this is the word which was preached to you."

Grass

Grassland is located in places where there is not enough water to support tree growth. Grassland also occupies land that has poorer soil. Grassland occupies areas that are flooded often. And man can cut out trees to create a pasture for livestock. Livestock can live off of grass but not trees.

Grassland is not as interesting as forests to me. Why? I like to see the different species and how they are growing. I can't identify grass. Our knowledge increases our interest.

It is the same with Christ. When we come to know Jesus as our savior a new birth happens and an interest starts to grow to know Him more.

Psalm 104:14
He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the labor of man, So that he may bring forth food from the earth,

Lord, let us not forget to cultivate our interest in you to grow and be fed. Thanks.

Open Grass Land

We came across some grass land that I look forward to hiking through later in the year. There is so much to see and experience that I wait with anticipation for what I will learn as I hike through this area.

Psalm 72:18,19
 "Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,
Who alone works wonders.
19 And blessed be His glorious name forever;
And may the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen, and Amen."

Father, the whole earth is full of your glory. I enjoy all the wonders you have made. Yes Lord let your glory fill the earth.

Grass Gone to Seed

Why has this grass gone to seed so early. Early July

This is a type of life being over for this crop of grass and new life will come next year.

We want to bring people into maturity in Christ. But we don't want our life to end early. At least most people don't. We would like to live a full life in Christ. What would bring our life to an early end spiritually? When we give up hope. In Christ there is hope when all looks hopeless. There is hope in the promise when there is no hope in the possible.

Abraham hoped for a son when he was 100 and his wife was 90.
Romans 4:17,18 "(as it is written, “A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist. 18 In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”

Father, I hope in You and what You have promised me. Thank you for your goodness, mercy and patience.

Growing Flax

The settlers across the US planted flax in the 1800's. There are 2 types of seed used. One was for the oil gained from the seed. Linseed oil has many uses.  The other was for the fiber that they used to make linen.

Isaiah 61:10
"I will rejoice greatly in the LORD, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."

Native Grass

I hiked along this native grass park a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised how tall this stuff gets. In the summer I got some good wildflower photos in this field.

Walking along the side I shot back to where I started.

I thought the sun made good effect on these fall grass plants.
