Hanging Branch

Hiked by this blow down with some branches still poised to fall on the trail. After another wind storm or more rot these branches will fall on the trail. I don't worry about this as I go under because I am only there for maybe 5 seconds. But at some point they will fall. So I am aware and if there was bad weather I would avoid this.

Life can be dangerous and we should be aware of the dangers.

I look to God to protect me from danger and am comforted by the promises He has given me.

Father, I thank You for the sureness of Your protection in my life.

Psalm 91:1-2 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,

My God, in whom I trust!”

Bur Oak Branch

Here is a Bur oak with a side branch that is about 20" in diameter. It is a tree unto itself. But all that weight is being supported by the bowl. The search for light continues. There can be no life without light. If there is not enough production to support the life of the branch the branch will die. Each branch and twig must produce enough for it to survive and also extra food will be brought back to the bole of the tree.

Our purpose in Christ is to help others spiritually and physically. If we are not reaching out to others we will die spiritually. Jesus said His food was to do the will of the Father. Jesus thrived by doing the things He was called to do. We are the same. As we do the what we are called to do we thrive.

Crooked Branch

I liked this branch. I have never seen/noticed an old grape vine. But I am wondering if this could be one of those.

Here is an Oak branch climbing up the hill.

Hickory Tree with side branch

Here is a Hickory tree that has a side branch that has taken over the lead. I use this tree as a marker when I am on the other side of the gully.


Job 30:6

Hole between Branches

What caused this hole to be left when the 2 branches grew together? It could of been a dead branch that was laying between the branches. Or was it hollowed out by a woodpecker years ago and then healed over?

Branch Takes The Lead

Here is a tree where a branch takes over the lead when the top is broken off. The tree in the center of the photo I am talking about grows straight then curves to the right then back to the left.

Two Branches Grow Together

White oak, a low forked tree that is now growing together as the tree matures.

Psalm 34:6
"This poor man cried and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles."

This is an interesting photo, because it shows a branch growth from inside a snag. The heart rot of the tree allowed me to shoot this photo from inside out.
