An attractive tree in our hardscrabble area for coniferous trees. I don't see many escaping from cultivation. This cone was right at eye level so I was able to get a good close up.
A German study of this tree found that a stand of 90 year old trees produced 65 pounds of seed per acre. While a stand of 60 year old trees only produced 13 pounds of seeds per acre.
This shows that maturity will bring more fruit in our Christian work as well. Don't be discouraged by small beginnings. Know your labor will bring fruit for God. 1 Cor. 15:58
Psalm 1:3 "He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers."
Father, guide me as this Psalm states to live for you and bear fruit for your kingdom. In Jesus name Thank you for doing it.
