(Schizachyrium scoparium)
This grass is native to most of the US except California, Oregon and Nevada. And grows well in grassland areas.
It is a bunch grass that is perennial, meaning that it comes up year after year.
It can be grown in zones 3-10. It grows best in the sun in well drained soil.
Local grass will do better than grass brought into an area that it is not suited for.
Psalm 146:5-7 "How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth,
The sea and all that is in them;
Who keeps faith forever;
7 Who executes justice for the oppressed;
Who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free."
