Black Locust Stump
This Black locust was cut down for redesign of the park. Notice the sprouting of the stump. The top photo was taken July 11th 2013 and the bottom photo was taken July 31st 2013. The fast growth of these sprouts is because of the root system of the tree. The tree was cut down but the root system is still intact. This facilitates fast growth.
Looking at the stump it was not the first time this tree was cut down. There are at least 4 stems growing together which probably came from a former stump that had died back or had been cut down.
Isaiah 6:13 "Yet there will be a tenth portion in it, And it will again be subject to burning, Like a terebinth or an oak Whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump."
When a work for Christ is destroyed or stopped, hope is not lost. Do not despair. There are seeds that will spring up to a new work from the old work. And it will flourish even better than before.
Father I thank you that even when there is loss, hope is not destroyed and You can establish a new work in us.
